The attack on civilians in southern Israel and its consequences
The attack on defenseless civilians in southern Israel has changed the world in the Middle East. The Jews have lost the feeling of having a safe bulwark in the state of Israel, while the Palestinians, from whose brutal attack came, the livelihood was withdrawn. The structures of the autonomy authority are destroyed and the real power in Gaza is now with Israel. Israel faces the challenge of pacifying the strip on the Mediterranean and receiving political support. At the same time, Israel is also responsible for the probably two million people, whose life are acutely threatened by acts of war, hunger and chaos. The Netanyahu government seems to fail because it does not manage to supply the most necessary aid deliveries.
It is crucial that the care of the civilian population in Gaza is properly planned and carried out in order to prevent further deaths. The Israeli government must manage this humanitarian crisis in order not only to survive politically, but also to preserve international support that Israel urgently needs.
The Israelis have not forgotten that they were defenseless under the Netanyahu government to the brutal attack. The majority of the population therefore expect its resignation. The government's serious mistakes in the Gaza War not only endanger Netanyahus fate, but also international support for Israel.
It remains to be seen how Israel reacts to the challenges and how the situation in the Middle East is developing.
