In the music scene of Berlin there is a very special artist: Benno Radke. With his versatility as a hit and coupling singer, actor and humorist, he can kidnap the audience in times of times. His repertoire consists of the songs and parodies of the period around 1900, which he presents in historical costume and with elegant "Kaiser Wilhelm-Bart". Together with his partner Dörte Siebecke, he appears both as a soloist and in a duet and brings the music of the time back to life.

Benno Radke has been fascinated by the music and culture of that time since childhood. He is not only devoted to the works of well -known artists such as Otto Reutter, Claire Waldoff and Friedrich Hollaender, but also the alleys and hits of this era. Songs like "Wat does the Berliner need to be happy?" Or "the night ghost" he brings to the stage and inspires the audience.

The artist can be seen not only in renowned event locations such as the Leipzig Opera Ball, the Hotel Adlon or the Kulturbrauerei, but also at benefit events, in the "Brettl" cabaret, in the Zille Museum as well as in living rooms, pubs and restaurants. his personal passion for music history prompted Benno Radke to collect old sound documents in childhood. Today, its collection comprises around 5,000 shellac plates. At the age of 15 he was on stage for the first time and presented old hits as part of a school performance. In addition to the music, he was also interested in their history and the history of phonography.

After training in retail, Benno Radke earned his money in a hardware store, while at the same time devoting himself to the cabaret. He founded his own group and performed with various programs on street festivals and cabarets. Through acting and singing lessons, he developed his skills and also played small roles in film and television productions such as "Stauffenberg", "The Templar" and "Effi Briest".

In 1996, Benno Radke Berlin's oldest theater club joined, which specializes in Alt-Berlin and 1920s programs. There he discovered his true calling and has appeared on various stages as well as in senior institutions and at public events. His parodies of well -known personalities such as Hans Albers, Theo Lingen, Hans Moser and Heinz Rühmann are particularly well known. In addition, he writes his own texts in a historical style, such as the "Knutlied" or "Christmas at Zickenschulze".

In 2010, Benno Radke founded "Zilles Stubentheater" in Köpenick together with Albrecht Hoffmann, where he became known as a "Blüten-Benno". Furthermore, he runs the "Theater im Bahnwaggon" in Groß Neuendorf an der Oder, which is the easternmost theater in Germany.

Benno Radke's representation of the Schuster Wilhelm Voigt, known as the "captain of Köpenick", is particularly impressive. In this role he leads Berliner and tourists through the old town, tells from the local history and takes his audience into a long -past time.

Not far from the Köpenick town hall lives Benno Radke. His apartment is like a time capsule around 1900, in which every detail is stylish: furniture, curtains, music apparatus and the old family photos. Here he feels comfortable and prepares for upcoming appearances while he enjoys his extensive shellac plate collection.
