according to a report by www.berliner-zeitung.de ,

The upcoming North America tour of the Staatskapelle Berlin with the four symphonies of Johannes Brahms will take place without Daniel Barenboim, since he resigned for health reasons. Gieder Šlekytė, Jakub Hrůša and Yannick Nézet-Séguin will replace Barenboim as conductors for the tour.

The North America tour begins on November 25th and 26th in Toronto, with Gieder Šlekytė, which gives its North America debut together with the Staatskapelle Berlin. In Chicago, Jakub Hrůša will make his debut with the Staatskapelle Berlin, and in New York and Philadelphia Yannick Nézet-Séguin will return to the desk of the Staatskapelle Berlin.

The North American concerts mark a special event because the Staatskapelle Berlin has not occurred in the United States for six years. For the state chapel and the Canadian and US audience, this is a unique opportunity to perform the Brahms cycle in four significant music metropolises in North America.

The North America tour of the Staatskapelle Berlin is not only an important cultural exchange, but also a way to deepen long-term relationships and establish new connections. The tour will appear for the first time in the long history of the Berlin Staatskapelle in Canada, which is an important event for the orchestra. The tour thus contributes to promoting German-American and German-Canadian cultural relationships.
