Future of Wilmersdorfer Straße: Citizens' participation for livable quarters
The future is in the focus of Wilmersdorfer Straße. The second dialogue workshop invites all interested parties to discuss proposals and measures to design the business street and neighboring neighborhoods. An important step to make the street future -proof.The district office Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf relies on the integrated urban development concept (ISEK), which Wilmersdorfer Straße and the surrounding neighborhoods have included in the program "Living Centers and Quartets" (LZQ). The goal: stabilize the areas, develop into centers worth living and in particular strengthen the business street.
As part of the ISEK, measures are developed to upgrade roads, squares and public spaces, to promote cultural and educational institutions and to increase the attractiveness of the area. The participation of the citizens is essential. In the first dialogue workshop, development goals were formulated and action requirements were discussed. Now concrete implementation measures are being developed.
Christoph Brzezinski, district councilor for urban development, emphasizes the importance of the dialogue: "With the help of the federal-state funding program, we have the opportunity to implement sustainable measures that make Wilmersdorfer Strasse and its neighborhood even more attractive. I invite all citizens to get involved."
Interested parties also have the opportunity to participate online on my.berlin.de. The results of the dialogues are expected to flow into a comprehensive concept by the end of 2024.
