Full closure of the Forckenbeckstraße for car traffic for new construction of bus stops
New bus stops bring traffic restrictions on Forckenbeckstraße
The planned blocking of Forckenbeckstraße between Tölzer Straße and Cunostraße from August 12th to September 30, 2024 ensures restrictions on road traffic. The measure is necessary because new bus stops for the BVG should be created at the Forkenbeckstraße corner.
The road users must adapt to a full block for motor vehicle traffic, both from the direction of Hohenzollerndamm and from the eastern side of Forckenbeckstrasse. Derirandings are signposted via Kranzer Straße and Kissinger Platz. Vehicles that are located on Cunostraße in the north can continue to reach the Hohenzollerndamm. In the south, Cunostraße becomes a one -way street and ends for vehicles from this direction in a dead end.
The pedestrians: Inside and cyclists: Inside, construction work is only minimally impaired and can continue to use Forckenbeckstrasse. However, from August 6th to November 18, 2024, another construction site is planned along Forckenbeckstraße to the height of the swimming pool, which brings additional traffic restrictions.
These conversion measures are part of a larger initiative to improve local public transport in the region. The creation of new bus stops is used to optimize the connection to the bus system and to enable passengers more comfortably access to public transport.
