Dance performance WAH-DU-RAA-Sustainable dance theater of students: Inside
On Friday, March 15, 2024, a special dance performance called "WAH-Du-Raa" will take place at 11.30 a.m. This performance organized by the Nelson Mandela School and the St Anne’s School in Sri Lanka is part of the partnership project of the Education Office for Sustainable Development of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. Schools from the 5th grade are invited to take part.
The dance theater piece skillfully staged the principles of the 17 goals for the sustainable development of the United Nations. Inspired by improvisation theater, the dance style "German Dance" and the traditional "Kandyan dances" from Sri Lanka, the idea becomes a cultural highlight and at the same time a way to find out about sustainability. After the performance there is the opportunity for an audience discussion.
The music is designed by Kian Barr and Fabian Höfer, the director leads Detlef Wingerath and the choreography comes from Elizabeth Birmingham and Dilsan Madusanka. Interested parties must register at sbne@charlottenburg-wilmersdorf.de because the number of participants is limited. The event is free of charge and takes place in the youth culture center "The White Rose" in Martin-Luther-Straße 77 in Berlin.
