City walks on Steinplatz: Dates and topics from April 2024
The city walks around the Steinplatz will continue from Saturday, April 20, 2024. The tours are directed by the city guides: Inside Michael Bienert, Marianne Mielke and Arne Krasting and includes a total of eight dates on the topics of women's life, music, science, literature and architecture.
The Steinplatz and its surroundings have been shaped by politics, science, visual art, literature, music and theater for around 150 years. Free city walks have been offered since 2020 to present this lively cultural, educational and souvenir landscape and make them tangible.
The dates and topics of the upcoming tours are as follows:
- Women's life around Steinplatz: Saturday, April 20, 2024, 2 p.m. & Saturday, July 6, 2024, 2 p.m.
- Music around the Steinplatz: Sunday, April 21, 2024, 2 p.m. & Sunday, June 30, 2024, 2 p.m.
- Science on Steinplatz: Saturday, May 25th, 2024, 2 p.m. & Saturday, July 20, 2024, 2 p.m.
- World literature around Steinplatz: Sunday, May 26, 2024, 2 p.m.
- Architecture around Steinplatz: Saturday, June 29, 2024, 2 p.m.
Participation in the tours is free of charge, but a pre -registration with the deposit of contact details is required, since the group size is limited to a maximum of 25 people. Additional information about the individual guided tours and the possibility of registration are available.
In addition to the city walks, a ten-minute short film for the Steinplatz district was produced under the direction of city guide Michael Bienert. This offers another insight into the history and meaning of the quarter.
The Steinplatz and its surroundings have a rich historical meaning that goes back to the 19th century. As a center for culture, education and memory, it is a significant sight in the city.
