Sbne opens film & talk #2030 series with the blue of the kaftan
The Staffpiece Education for Sustainable Development (SBNE) starts its film & Talk #2030 series on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Delphi Lux in the YVA-Bogen/Zoo train station with the award-winning feature film “The Blue of the Kaftan” by Maryam Tuzani.
The film is about Halim and Mina, who run a traditional tailoring in the Salé medina. In order to meet the requirements of your demanding clientele, set the talented young man Youssef as an apprentice. Over time, however, Mina notices how much Youssef's presence touches her husband and he seems to be attracted to him.
The subsequent audience discussion addresses the handling of criminalization and discrimination against LGBTQI+ communities, especially in countries such as Morocco and Russia. Falko Droßmann (MdB, queer-political spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group) and Massud Reza (Maneo-the gay anti-violence project in Berlin) will talk about strengthening communities and the current situation in Germany. Lidia Perico (Head of Staffpoint Education for Sustainable Development/District Office Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf) takes over the moderation
The series of events is carried out in cooperation with the Delphi Lux and the Berlin State Center for Political Education. In addition, all films for school classes are offered for the morning and on request with a speaker: in the school cinema. Interested parties can contact Juliane Brix/Team SBNE at SBNE@charlottenburg-wilmersdorf.de.
This event offers an important opportunity to deal with current social issues and to discuss how the LGBTQI+ communities can be strengthened. It is particularly relevant because the discrimination and criminalization of LGBTQI+ people in many parts of the world continues to be a serious problem.
As a historical context, one could indicate that the rights and acceptance of LGBTQI+ people in many countries have only been recognized in recent decades, and that there are still important efforts to reduce discrimination and prejudices.
