New residential project in Alt-Hohenschönhausen: 173 rental apartments under construction!

In the Berlin city landscape, the living space becomes scarce, but new projects promise to improve the situation. A new WBM residential project is currently being built in Alt-Hohenschönhausen, which will include 173 rental apartments. The completion is announced by the end of 2025. The construction project, which is located between Landsberger Allee and Arendsweg, comprises 89 rent -bound and 87 barrier -free apartments. The external construction work is almost complete, while the interior is already running. This project will strengthen the living supply in a central part of Lichtenberg, which is also well connected to public transport.

The property with an area of 6,500 square meters is located near the Lichtenberger Ikea branch and is easily accessible by the tram lines 16 and M6. The planning comes from Deluse Architects, who designed a U-shaped development with seven floors and a green courtyard. Overall, a living space of over 13,200 square meters is created, with the apartments from one room to five room variants between 35 and 135 square meters. All units are equipped with underfloor heating, many have balconies or terraces. The energy supply takes place via district heating, supplemented by solar panels on the roof, and corresponds to the energy standard KfW 55 EE.

The topping-out ceremony for another large residential project in Alt-Hohenschönhausen was recently celebrated. The residential complex fulfills the efficiency house 40-EE standard and the energy efficiency class A+. Heat pumps and photovoltaic systems are used for sustainable energy supply. The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. The need for affordable living space in Berlin is enormous due to rising rents and a tense market situation.
