New parking space management in Charlottenburg: What residents need to know!

From December 1, 2025, parking management will be introduced in the districts of Charlottenburg, Wilmersdorf and Halensee. This means that parking in these zones becomes a fee. Parking is only permitted with a residents' parking permit, a fee -based parking ticket or an exemption. This decision is based on a study on parking space management, which has found high parking pressure in the affected areas. The aim is to improve the parking situation for residents and local traders, such as [berlin.de] (https://www.berlin.de/ba-Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf/aktuelles/Pressemitteilungen/2025/Pressemage division.

The new parking zones include areas 126 to 131 and are to come into force from December. Information on how it works and the new regulations are offered in several information events that are open to the citizens. These events are particularly important to inform the residents about the upcoming changes.

Details on parking space management

The parking space management enables residents to apply for a residents' parking permit that allows you to park free of charge in the approved zone during the approval period. However, it should be noted that there is no entitlement to a parking space. The resident parking card is valid for a maximum of two years and can be changed or replaced if necessary. The application can be made online, in writing or personally. The fees for the exhibition are 20.40 euros, and the processing time can be up to four weeks, whereby incomplete documents can cause delays, as can be seen on service.berlin.de

Additional information about the new parking zones 132 to 138, which have been in operation since December 1, 2024, show the goal of reducing parking pressure and improving the traffic situation sustainably.
