New Berlin city tree campaign: 123 trees planted in Charlottenburg, Schmargendorf, Wilmersdorf and Westend
The Berlin city tree campaign planted 123 new trees in various districts of the city in spring this year. Most of these trees are maple trees, linden and elms. The exact distribution and locations of the new trees can be viewed on the website of the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment.
Last autumn, the district also planted 127 new trees, mainly on the Mierendorffinsel. Also, these are mainly maple trees, linden and oak. A detailed list of the locations is available on the district's website.
The new plantings are carefully planned, whereby factors such as the size of the tree disc, lighting conditions, distance from building facades, neighboring trees and bus stops are taken into account. In addition, aspects of accessibility and management query are included in the planning. The freshly planted trees are poured and cared for for at least five years to promote their growth.
The planting of trees in urban areas plays an important role in air quality, the city climate and the general well -being of the residents. The Berlin city tree campaign and the efforts of the districts contribute to maintaining and expanding the green areas in the city.
