The reading of the book author Martin Krauss on July 4, 2024 at 6 p.m. "It would be there - how to fight athletes to this day" is an event that will take place as part of the EM 2024 - educational program "A Good Game", part of the Future League. The reading is organized by the Education for Sustainable Development (SBNE) and funded by the Senate Department for Sport in the Bauhaus Reuse. The event will take place on the central island of the Ernst-Reuter-Platz and offers an insight into the history of sport from the perspective of athletes who fight against exclusion.

Martin Krauss will tell stories of well -known sports greats such as the first African boxing world champion Battling Siki, the only woman who has ever passed the Giro d’Italia, Alfonsina Strada, and South African intersex Olympic champion Caster Semenya. These stories show the fight against discrimination and exclusion in sports and stimulate thought about the image of sport in society.

The reading is free of charge and interested parties are asked to register at sbne@charlottenburg-wilmersdorf.de to reserve a place.

This event is a significant contribution to education for sustainable development and awareness of equality in sport. It opens up a room for discussions about the role of sport in promoting inclusion and diversity in society.
