Cooperation: Family service office receives support from family fund

The family service office Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf has closed a new cooperation agreement with the family fund Berlin-Brandenburg. From February 1, 2024, the family fund will support the family service office as an important cooperation partner by offering 26 consultations on the services of child benefit and children's surcharge once a month at the "House of Family".

The family service office is the contact point in the youth welfare office for families, relatives and expectant parents in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. A multi -professional team of social workers and administrative specialists offers competent initial advice on a variety of topics and questions about family life. The office provides contacts, supports the application for family -related services of the youth welfare office and forwards them to the relevant places.

The cooperation with the family fund is expanded by the advisory services of the family service office to include advice on the core services of child benefit and children's surcharge. This helps to ensure that families in the district can receive relevant information on these services in personal consulting appointments.

This new cooperation could be of great benefit to families in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, since it offers relieved accessibility to important state services and offers comprehensive advice on family issues.

Here are some relevant facts about child benefit and child surcharge in Germany:

- child benefit is a state service for the financial support of families with children.
- The children's surcharge is paid to parents who can cover their own needs, but cannot cover the entire needs of their children.
- The amount of child benefit and children's surcharge depends on the number and age of the children.

It remains to be seen how this new cooperation will affect the support of families in the district. The possibility of receiving specific advice on state services on site could improve the quality of life of many families.
