Successful sewer renovation: Kaiserdamm free again from Friday

The Kanaldüker under the Kaiserdamm has finally been renovated and the construction sites to remedy the damage to the sewage system and the renewal of the lines and the road have disappeared from Friday afternoon, April 19, 2024. The problems were caused by a sacking in the road on April 27, 2023. A crack was found in the ceiling of an underground building, a düker head, which dates from 1906. After a thorough examination, the water operations were able to receive a large part of the facility by renovation. The upper half of the overhead culverts was removed and replaced by a new reinforced concrete building.

The reopening of the Kaiserdamm is good news for the residents and road users who have suffered from the closures and construction sites. The extensive work led to traffic disruptions and the residents had to accept long detours. By completing the renovation, people can now easily pass the road again.

The Kaiserdamm is an important traffic artery in the city, which is heavily frequented. The renewal of the street and the sewage system is of great importance to ensure the safety and functionality of the infrastructure. The fact that parts of the system come from 1906 shows the need for regular maintenance and renovation work to avoid damage.
