Charlottenburg youth orchestra plays Wagner, Strauss and Schubert - free concerts in February!
The Charlottenburg youth orchestra will perform two symphony concerts under the direction of Mariano Domingo. The first concert will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the church for good shepherds (Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz). The second performance follows on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche (Zossener Straße 65).
The concert program includes the prelude to the opera "The Meistersinger von Nuremberg" by Richard Wagner, the "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss (singing soloist: Elene Khonelidze) and the Symphony No. 8 "unfinished" by Franz Schubert.
Visitors have the opportunity to visit both concerts free of charge and no pre -registration is required.
This musical event offers the residents of Charlottenburg and the surrounding environment the opportunity to experience talented young musicians live and be enchanted by classical music.
The churches in which the concerts take place have a long and rich story. The church for good shepherds, which was built in 1894, is a well -known landmark of the district and offers an impressive backdrop for musical performances. The Holy Cross Church, which was built in the 18th century, is also an important cultural and historical place in Charlottenburg.
