burger medal: a sign of recognition
The Citizens' Medal has been awarded the district for special services to the district since 1988. So far, a total of 345 medals have been awarded, which serve as recognition for the special commitment of the citizens. The concise medal has a diameter of about five centimeters and shows the district coat of arms on the one hand, while on the other hand the text “For special services around the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district of Berlin” can be read. A band bridge in the Berlin colors (white and red) enables the medal to be attached to the clothing.
The ceremonial handover of the citizens' medal takes place on October 17, 2025. This date was preferred for organizational reasons because the district council falls on October 19 this year. The awarding is made in a solemn framework, usually in the ballroom of the Charlottenburg town hall.
