Girls' Day 2024 in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: Professional orientation without clichés

On April 25, 2024, the nationwide day of the Girls action day will take place, which offers students from grade five the opportunity to get to know professions and courses beyond gender clichés. There are also various campaigns and offers in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Education City Councilor Heike Schmitt-Melz welcomes the event and emphasizes the importance of professional orientation for schoolchildren. The Technical University (TU) Berlin offers Workshops on topics such as artificial intelligence, 3D printing and physiology. Interested students can register by April 22, 2024. The German Basketball Association e.v. (DBV) Charlottenburg enables girls in classes one to twelve to try the sport of basketball. The various offers are published on the websites of the facilities.

Girls' Day is an initiative that is supported by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to inspire girls for technical and scientific professions. On this day, companies and institutions all over Germany open their doors to schoolchildren to give insights into different professional fields. The history of the girl's day goes back to 2001 when it took place in Germany for the first time. Since then he has developed into an important event for the career orientation of girls.
