Discover the variety of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: New edition of the city walks

The reinforcement of the popular "City Walks through Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf" is a significant step in the promotion of local tourism. Season 2 of these practical pocket books can be picked up free of charge in a variety of places in the district and helps both locals and visitors to get to know cultural and architectural diversity of the district better.

The walks that last between 90 and 120 minutes are designed in such a way that they illuminate special places, parks, streets and buildings in different districts. This form of city mapping not only contributes to local identity, but also supports the community by promoting the examination of your own environment.

At a time when interest in local tourism has increased significantly, the spread of these booklets is a sign of the growing enthusiasm of people for their city. The city tours offer seven unique routes: from the shady paths in the Grunewald to the unknown corners of the Halensee, there is a lot to discover.

The booklets can be picked up at different locations, including:

  • Charlottenburg: exhibition on the Romanesque café in the Europa-Center
  • Charlottenburg: Museum Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
  • Charlottenburg-Nord: monastery shop
  • Schmargendorf: Adolf-Reichwein library
  • Westend: Johanna-Moosdorf library
  • Wilmersdorf: House of Neighborhood

This initiative was launched in the context of a tourism project, whereby four authors: working inside in close cooperation with the district economic development and Visitberlin. Promotion by City Tax funds from the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Companies shows how serious the city is to advance the cultural diversity and tourist possibilities in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

A particularly exciting feature of the new edition is the upcoming digital availability of the routes on the district's website. The walks are made accessible in bilingual (German and English) and are also to be integrated into the Navigation app Komoot in order to achieve an even wider target group. This will offer a valuable resource for both Berliners: inside and for tourists: inside.

With the city walks, not only the architectural beauty of the city is recognized, but also a feeling of community and connection with your own district is promoted. In times when people are looking for new ways to explore their surroundings, these issues offer the perfect occasion to discover the hidden treasures of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.
