Berlin's largest brothel, the “Artemis” in Halensee, has received approval for an expansion! After years of conflicts with the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district, the administrative court decided on Monday that the operators of the brothel, Hakim and Kenan Ş. Originally, the district had rejected the building permit for the adjacent warehouse, which has belonged to the brothers since 2009, but now this resistance has been overcome.
The new facility should offer space over 4,000 square meters and include 32 performance rooms that are intended for both the sex workers and for their customers. Despite the legal hurdles, the court saw the structural framework as fulfilled at the negotiation, which favored the decision to approved. This happened in a visit to the location, in which district representatives and lawyers also participated in addition to the judges, such as rbb24 reported.

The "Artemis" was opened in September 2005 and is not only a brothel, but also a nudist club with wellness offers, including saunas and a swimming pool. Admission currently costs 90 euros, the income for sexual services is paid directly to the prostitutes who pay a flat rate to the operators. However, the success of the “Artemis” was accompanied by controversy over the years: in 2016, a large -scale police campaign led to allegations of tax evasion and connections to organized crime, which later proved to be baseless, as TAG24 reported. A lengthy legal dispute followed, which ended in 2023 with an apology and compensation of 250,000 euros through the state of Berlin.
