Beatbusberlin: Mobile music room for disadvantaged young people starts

New music project "Beatbusberlin": An initiative for equal opportunities and social Integration

In a significant step towards promoting socially disadvantaged young people, the music school City West starts with the new "Beatbusberlin" project. This mobile range of music, which is launched with the financial support of the foundation on the Grunewald, aims to offer young people new perspectives without access to musical education.

By providing a fully equipped tape bus, which acts as a rehearsal room and recording studio, places in social hot spots in the region are to be approached weekly. Schools and youth centers are the focus. Simple conditions of participation, such as the absence of registration fees, ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate and develop their musical talents.

District City Councilor Heike Schmitt-Melz emphasizes the importance of such projects for social cohesion. "Music builds bridges and expands Horizonte. With 'Beatbusberlin' we create a space in which the participants can discover and develop their talents." The initiative not only aims at further musical training, but also on strengthening the social skills and teamwork of the young people by playing together in bands and writing their own songs.

Josef Holzhauser, Head of the City West Music School, emphasizes that this project is an excellent opportunity for the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district to show how sensible and effective musical offers in the prevention of violence and crime can be. "We are convinced that we will have a positive impact on many young people with 'Beatbusberlin'," he explains.

Winfried Wohlfeld, the board of the supporting foundation on the Grunewald, adds: "The Beatbusberlin opens up young people an uncomplicated and free opportunity for social participation and integration." The promotion of art and culture is a central aspect of the work of the foundation in order to create equal opportunities in society.

The "Beatbusberlin" project is based on proven models such as "Rhythm is it!" the Berlin Philharmonic and the Venezuelan "El Sistema". Such projects are important in order to show young people for different social backgrounds and to integrate them socially.

Due to the changing locations of the bus, high visibility and accessibility are guaranteed, which means that more young people can benefit from this offer compared to conventional projects that are bound to permanent places.

In summary, it can be said that the "Beatbusberlin" project not only offers a platform for musical education, but also decisively contributes to improving social integration and equal opportunities, which makes it an important project for the community.
