Baum is looking for land: New campaign in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf

The district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf starts the campaign "Baum sucht Guchtskück to become old" in June 2024, in which future tree partners can be preserved: inside one or more trees that are financed by the environmental and nature protection office. Last year alone, 1144 trees were lost in this district on private property due to construction work or for reasons of traffic safety. The campaign aims to make the district of greener and more beautiful by encouraging property owners: inside to participate in the action.

District City Councilor Oliver Schruoffenegger emphasizes the important role that city trees play for the city climate and biodiversity. Trees not only offer protection against the sun and donate cool air, but also serve as a habitat and source of food for different animal species. The selected trees are particularly tailored to the needs of birds and insects to increase biodiversity in the district.

interested property owners: inside, daycare centers, apartment owners' communities, housing associations and cooperatives can apply to receive one of the 65 trees available. The trees are supplied including accessories such as tree pile, binding material and planting instructions, and the participants undertake to take care of the growth and care of the trees.

applications can be submitted by September 1, 2024, and the trees will be made available from the beginning of November. The action applies while stocks last.
