Action weeks against racism in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: Diverse program against discrimination
The international weeks of action against racism will take place this year from Monday, March 11, 2024 to Sunday, March 24, 2024. The start will take place on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Pangea Haus (Trautenaustraße 5) with a stage program made of music, hands -on activities and information stands. These action weeks have a long tradition and gain in importance, especially in view of the increasing attacks from the right in the district.
over 40 events and promotions are planned, which are organized by more than 30 organizations. The wide spectrum ranges from art projects and workshops to action days to city tours and panel discussions. Topics such as anti -Muslim racism, the difficulties in sea rescue in the Mediterranean and the Kurdish New Year are discussed. This shows the diverse approaches to act against discrimination and to stand up for a respectful and diverse coexistence in the neighborhoods.
The International Day against Racism of the United Nations, which is celebrated annually on March 21, goes back to protests against apartheid in South Africa and has led to events nationwide since the 1980s. The promotion weeks against racism in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf set a clear sign against discrimination for the fourth time.
It is important that society actively campaigns against racism. Events such as the campaign weeks against racism help to raise awareness and promote solidarity. It is an opportunity for the community to come together and to work together for a world that is shaped by respect and diversity.
