22nd anniversary of the merger of Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf: Celebration of the partnership with Polish city of Meseritz
On October 19, the district council will take place in Berlin and marks the 22nd anniversary of the merger of the districts of Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf. On the occasion of this anniversary, the district office and BVV are commemorating the partnerships that have closed the districts before the merger and which have been cultivated together since then. Among other things, the long -standing town twinning is celebrated with the Polish city of Meseritz (Miedzyrzecz), which Wilmersdorf received on June 11, 1993.
The partnership with Meseritz has existed for 30 years and is also successfully continued by the merger. On this occasion, Mayor Remigiusz Lorenz from Meseritz is expected to enter the district's Golden Book. District Mayor Kirstin Bauch is pleased with the visit and the long -term cooperation with the Polish city.
It is important to maintain relationships and partnerships between cities, as this promotes cultural and economic exchange and strengthens friendships across national borders. The partnership between Wilmersdorf and Meseritz is an example of such successful cooperation.Source: According to a report by www.berlin.de
