The exhibition "104 years of the Charlottenburg youth welfare office" will open on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 4 p.m. in the Charlottenburg town hall. The reason for this is the 100th anniversary of the Reich Youth Welfare Act. Detlef Wagner, deputy district mayor and district councilor for youth and health, emphasizes the importance of youth welfare and would like to arouse understanding and interest in the work of the youth welfare office. Despite personnel and financial bottlenecks, it was possible to realize the exhibition with a lot of volunteer work.

The exhibition can be viewed from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., in the Charlottenburg town hall, Otto-Suhr-Allee 100, 2. floor.

The history of the Charlottenburg youth welfare office goes far back and is closely linked to the development of youth welfare in Germany. The Reich Youth Welfare Act, which was adopted 100 years ago, laid the foundation for today's youth welfare. Since then, Charlottenburg has continuously worked on protecting and promoting the needs and rights of young people.

The exhibition is therefore not only a celebration of the anniversary, but also an appreciation of the commitment and the history of youth welfare in Charlottenburg and Berlin.
