Bundes budget: growth initiative, immigration and relief - wholesale president calls for further action by the federal government
good, but not yet good enough
The Federal Government recently submitted its draft budget to which Dr. Dirk Jandura, President of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade, Services. According to Jandura, the agreement on a constitutional federal budget is definitely to be welcomed, but the proposed growth initiative is not yet sufficient to cope with the current crisis.
The planned infrastructure expenditure is of great importance for medium -sized trade. In addition, the expansion of degressive depreciation and relief in relation to the cold progression are enormous help, especially for small and medium -sized companies. Nevertheless, the relief in view of the structural economic crisis is not sufficient and would have to be significantly higher. A possible measure for further relief would be the abolition of the solidarity surcharge, says Jandura.Jandura expressly supports the incentives to immigrate skilled workers and the improved opportunities for recruiting workers through temporary work. He sees this as a brave step in the right direction.
The drastic reduction of the supply chain duty law, on the other hand, is rated as positive by Jandura. He describes this as good news for all companies. However, the problem of the many questionnaires in the supply chain remains unsolved. There are concrete suggestions for improvement here, which hopefully will be included in the final package.
Finally, the wholesale president emphasizes that it is now important that the federal government comes back and sets clear priorities in the tasks and expenses. From the BGA's point of view, the internal and external security, the improvement of the infrastructure, progress in digitization and the relief of companies are particularly important. A measure that would not cause financial costs is the liberation of medium -sized businesses from the large number of reporting obligations.
The reactions to the draft budget show that there are positive aspects, but still remain room for further measures to cope with the economic crisis. The concrete demands of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade, Services serve as important impulses to improve the draft budget and to take into account the needs of medium -sized companies.
The Federal Government's decision has an impact on companies and the economy in general. It remains to be seen whether the proposed measures are sufficient to cope with the crisis and achieve sustainable economic stability.
