Blitzer marathon: Brandenburg police fight against racers
The Brandenburg police are planning to carry out a large -scale speedster marathon on April 19, to take action against frenzy and to promote compliance with speed rules. The nationwide controls should take place within 24 hours and will focus on the avenue, among other things, because Brandenburg has most of the avenues nationwide. Last year, 35 percent of the traffic accident deaths had previously collided on a street tree, with high speed playing an important role.
Compared to the previous year, 27,000 speed violations were found in the speed camera marathon, which was a little less than in the previous action. The "Speed Marathon" joins the nationwide traffic safety campaign "Safe.mobil.leben" and will also control freight transport. In certain regions such as the south of Berlin and along the Autobahn 2, the first checks for April 15th are planned.
Other priorities of the campaign are truck controls, in particular on the topics of "distraction and distance". Customs, the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility as well as other partners are also involved in the controls and prevention measures. Since 2018, the cross -border campaign has been carried out on the basis of a decision of the Interior Ministers' Conference, whereby Brandenburg is currently holding the chair.
