A dramatic incident occurred in Neukölln at night: an explosion on a café in Schierker Strasse alerted fire brigade and police. At shortly after 2 a.m., witnesses reported a loud bang that set fire to the front door of the restaurant and powdered an adjacent window. A courageous 24-year-old employee took a light-flash out and prevented the fire from spreading before the emergency services arrived. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

The explosion left damage: debris meters hit the motorcycle of the 61-year-old owner and damaged a parked car. The criminal police immediately took over the investigation, while specialists from the forensic institute and the commissioner commissioner for explosive offenses examined the crime scene. Schierker Straße remained closed all morning between Hermannstrasse and Altenbraker Straße.
