Movement for children: New project strengthens health and team spirit!
In Tempelhof-Schöneberg, a new project is launched that should give children joy in exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle. In today's press release, Oliver Schworck, district councilor for youth and health, announces that the implementing project partner BWGT e.V. will ensure that movement is brought directly into the children's living environment. The initiative thus reacts to alarming results of the schooling examinations in Berlin, which show a high proportion of children with lack of exercise and coordination deficits in this district.
The aim of the project is to promote children's physical and social skills through targeted offers. For this purpose, movement games are used to increase coordination and teamwork as well as movement course that strengthen creativity, self -efficacy and skill. In addition to physical fitness, the project also aims to train social and emotional skills such as self -confidence, empathy and conflict resolution.
movement as a key to development
As in the analysis of healthy and relaxed, there is a decisive factor for the development of children. It not only promotes motor skills such as running, jumping and throwing balls, but also has positive effects on social skills and musical integration that strengthen body awareness. Health demands by the WHO underline the need that children between the ages of 3 and 5 should be active at least three hours a day, while young people need at least one hour of moderate to intensive activity.
The project in Tempelhof-Schöneberg offers a low-threshold, near-home, free way to motivate children to move more. By strengthening social participation, specialists can address families in health, education and social work and thus promote opportunities for a healthier childhood.
mastering health challenges
A lack of exercise can not only avoid overweight and psychological problems by integrating these activities into everyday life, but also improve academic achievements. Experts emphasize that playful movement stimulates children to stay active in the long term. Parents and educators play a crucial role and can promote interest in active lifestyles through their own role models.
The project is financed by the Senate Department for Science, Health and Care and is carried out as part of the Health Action Program. Thus Tempelhof-Schöneberg takes an important step towards a healthier life for its youngest residents and offers an approach that aims at the long-term improvement of the quality of life.
