repair workshop in Hellersdorf promotes sustainable repair culture
In today's throw -away society, the topic of repair and sustainability is becoming increasingly important. The Berlin network Repami recently started its activities to offer citizens an overview of local craft businesses and repair initiatives.
The "Helle Bürgerwerkstatt" - a site for creativity and repair
An outstanding part of this network is the "bright community workshop" in Hellersdorf. This repair workshop offers a wide range of tools for repair work in the areas of electrical, locksmith and wood processing. In addition, workshops are offered in which participants can learn how to use laser cutters, CNC milling and 3D printers.
Matthias Zwerschke, head of the workshop, emphasizes the variety of repaired objects ranging from small toys to washing machines. Under the expert guidance of eight volunteers, including skilled workers and engineers, people can take part in the repair work.
sustainable community promotion through repair
The "bright community workshop" is not only a place of repair, but also a space for creative exchange and encounter. The promotion of common repair and design projects is intended to build a sustainable community that is independent of origin and age structure.
