Berlin children present creative ideas for sustainable consumption

sustainability in focus: Young environmental hero show ways of responsible consumption

The award ceremony for this year's poster competition for children was all about conscious and sustainable consumption. Over 1,700 students from Berlin presented their visionary ideas for an environmentally friendly future and thus sensitized the public to the importance of sustainable shopping behavior. The creative posters not only showed the imagination of the young talents, but also delivered concrete shopping tips and showed how everyone can contribute to the protection of our environment.

The winners were chosen at a solemn event at Alexa Berlin, at which top-class jury members and competitive partners announced the placements. Under the motto "I am an environmental hero* - this is our purchase of tomorrow!" The children presented a variety of approaches to reduce plastic waste in the supermarket and promote conscious consumption. Konstantin from the Pettenkofer primary school prevailed with his impressive poster against the strong competition and impressed the jury with its message that nature already offers ideal packaging solutions.

The exhibition in Alexa Berlin shows 160 selected posters of the participants and invites visitors to coordinate for their favorites. The variety of creative ideas illustrates how important it is to raise awareness of sustainability and environmental protection at an early stage. The patron of the competition, Beate Ernst, emphasized the importance of responsible shopping behavior and praised the commitment of the young environmental hero.

The poster competition, which has been taking place since 2015, is an important contribution to environmental education and shows how children can become environmentally upright environmentalists with their ideas. The partnership and support of companies and organizations such as PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg, the BSR and the Berlin Zoo underline the importance of commitment to sustainability and environmental protection in society.

The impressive works of art of the young participants not only inspire to rethink in their own consumption behavior, but also show that each individual can make a contribution to a livable and environmentally friendly future. By reducing plastic waste, using reusable products and promoting regional and fair products, we can jointly take an important step towards sustainability. Every little deed counts!
