Berlin trainees celebrate international success in the Red City Hall!

On January 22, 2025, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, will hold an important event in the Red Rathaus. He receives over 200 Berlin trainees who receive the “Europass Mobility”, a certificate that documents foreign experience within the EU. This stay abroad, which are financed through the ERASMUS+ EU training program, are geared towards partner cities such as Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Kyiv. Wegner emphasized that the trainees not only gain valuable professional experience, but also act as an ambassador of the city of Berlin, as they promote personal contacts and specific projects on site. The Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family is organizing the “Goeurope” program, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The event starts at 11 a.m. with a greeting from the mayor, followed by a group photo with the participants. The training companies present include renowned institutions such as the Berlin Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) and the German Pension Insurance. The trainees will report on their experiences that they have had in international cities such as Jakarta and Istanbul. This underlines the importance of urban partnerships and the commitment of Berlin for international training projects.
