At the District Court of Tiergarten in Berlin, Mariam R., a well -known member of a Berlin clan, was sentenced to a fine of 21,665 euros in 24 cases. The prison sentence of one year and seven months was suspended, report the "Tagesspiegel" and the "Bild" newspaper.

Mariam R. has been known to the judiciary in Berlin for over 40 years. She already has numerous criminal records for theft, insult and fraud. She is an influential person in the Berlin clan and, according to "Bild", has 19 children, some of whom are also active in the criminal scene. According to the "Tagesspiegel", 22 entries for you are available in the Federal Central Register.

A "Spiegel TV" reporter quoted Mariam R. with the words "Knast Makes Men" in relation to the numerous prison stays of her family members. Since 1981 she received payments from the state in accordance with the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act. In the meantime, however, she no longer receives support.

The scams of Mariam R. were uncovered when she tried to report damage of 120,000 euros from her insurance. In her applications, however, she had not specified both her jewelry worth around 36,000 euros and 12,000 euros in cash, reports the "Tagesspiegel". Obviously, she was not enough for her secret assets and the regular payments.

The high amount of damage for a woman who receives only 500 euros widow's pension per month was strange to the insurance officer. Ultimately, Mariam R. admitted the allegations of tears in court, and there was an agreement between the indictment, defense and court. She has to pay back the social benefits she received between July 2017 and the end of 2018.
