Berlin makes democracy: Events against right-wing slogans in the Philipp-Schaeffer library

The Philipp Schaeffer Library in Berlin-Mitte will carry out a number of events to deal with the extreme right and slogans in the "Berlin Makes Democracy" action month. The district mayor of Mitte, Stefanie Remlinger, announced that these events will be part of the Berlin Democracy Day on September 15th, which takes place as a celebration for the international day of democracy.

Among the planned workshops is "become a regular table fighter", who is supposed to help people react to discriminatory statements and show solidarity with those affected. The workshop aims to analyze right positions and to represent alternative, solidarity. He is held in cooperation with the organization "Stand against racism".

Another workshop entitled "Civil society under pressure: Dealing with the extreme right" is organized by the Amadeu Antonio Foundation. Right narratives and roles of racism, anti -feminism and anti -Semitism are discussed here. The participants get insights into counter -strategies and support offers for those affected.

In order to strengthen yourself for everyday life, interested parties have the opportunity to register in the Philipp-Schaeffer library on September 19, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participation in the workshops is free of charge, but the number of places is limited. Registrations are accepted at "schaeffer@stb-mitte.de".
