Berlin introduces the obligation to identify you for outdoor pool visitor - new security measures should counteract violence
From Saturday from Saturday, outdoor pool visitors in Berlin must observe new rules and security measures. One of them is to present the ID when entering.
Berlin - In Berlin's outdoor pools, an obligation to identify now applies. Correctly heard: As announced by the Berlin Bäder farms (BBB) on Friday (July 14), admission is only possible with the presentation of an ID. The measure may sound unusual at first, but is necessary. With the security control, bathroom operators and the state government want to react to repeated violence in Berlin outdoor pools.
In bars and clubs, the age must be detected with the ID - in Berlin's outdoor pools, on the other hand, it should help to provide more security. From Saturday (July 15th), visitors must show their ID card, driver's license or a student ID if they want to go to the outdoor pool. In addition, the security personnel should be increased in bathrooms.
The aim of the measures is to "make summer and outdoor pools more secure and thus more attractive for visitors and at the same time relieve the employees of the bathrooms," said a BBB spokeswoman. In addition to the security measures, baths are likely to impose admission stops for visitors much earlier than before. This is intended to avoid overcrowded bathrooms and thus relax the situation prematurely before escalating.representatives of bathroom operators, the police and Senate administration had developed the changes together. The reason for the tightened security control was multiple clashes in bathrooms in Berlin, some of which have been promoted and made headlines all over Germany. It was only last Sunday (July 9th) that the Columbiabad in Neukölln was repeatedly closed and cleared early due to an escalation. There will therefore be additional mobile guards from the Berlin police at four locations, a spokesman for the Senate Administration said on Friday.
This expects bathers when visiting the outdoor pool in Berlin:
- ID (identity card, student ID or driver's license)
- More security personnel
-admission stops with significantly lower utilization than before
- Additional police guards at four locations (Columbiabad, Prinzenbad, summer pool at the islander and summer pool Pankow)
- Video surveillance on the entrances from Columbiabad and the Prince's Pad (in Planning)
Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) welcomed the security measures in Berlin's outdoor pools. "It is completely right if the consequence is drawn from using the police now," said Scholz during the summer press conference. Such incidents, such as recently in the Columbiabad, should not be taken into account "shrugging", he made it clear.
