Berlin celebrates the 44th international barrel organ festival at Breitscheidplatz!
Breitscheidplatz, 10789 Berlin, Deutschland - On July 4, 2025, the 44th International Damtion Orgel Festival will open in Berlin. District Mayor Kirstin Bauch will initiate the event at 6.30 p.m. on Breitscheidplatz, where the square is located between the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the European Center. This is a tradition that the city has been maintaining for years and celebrates the joy of the special art of the barrel organ players. Kirstin Bauch again takes over the patronage for this extraordinary festival and thanks everyone who contributes to implementation, especially Christa Hohnhäuser, who is also known as Jette.
The festival attracts around 130 barrel organ players from more than twelve countries this year, including Chile, Mexico, the USA, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Switzerland, Great Britain and Ukraine. These artists: Inside, not only present their music, but also their cultural backgrounds and offer a unique experience for all visitors.

The festival, which is referred to as the "Berlin's largest barrel organ concert", extends from July 4 to 6, 2025. A highlight of the festival will be the defile of the barrel organ player: Inside in historical clothing, which will take place on Saturday, July 5, from 11:00 a.m. Throughout the festival, guests can expect a living stage program that is moderated by jubilation Jette. An entertainment program for young and old is offered at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and numerous showmen: Inside, visitors spoil you with international dishes and drinks.
Another musical highlight is a classic barrel organ concert that takes place on Sunday, July 6th at 1 p.m. in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The atmosphere promises to become unforgettable, and everyone is cordially invited to take part.

The festival begins with a move of the barrel organ players: inside from the Pankow Museum to Kollwitzplatz and Wasserurmaral. During the event, guests not only have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful melodies of the rotary organs, but also to learn more about these historical instruments. A workshop entitled "How does a barrel organ work?" offers interested insights into the mechanics and the way the instruments works.
In addition, the exhibition "Musica di Strada", which shows the art of Italian barrel organ and orchestrial production from the 19th century in Berlin, will be accessible throughout July. The festival promises to become an unforgettable experience for both families and music lovers.
