disgust alarm on Klausenerplatz in Berlin-Charlottenburg: Rat plague threatens residents
The residents of Klausenerplatz in Berlin-Charlottenburg are very concerned. Just a few steps from the castle are rumbling on the playground. Not only children can play here, but also rats! This is not the first time that the place is affected by rats. In the summer of 2022 he had to be closed for six weeks.
Now there is another plague of rat on the playground. In the middle of the day you can see rats as they run over the 300,000 euro space and jump around on benches and dumps. The sight is not only disgusting, but also threatening. Rats can transmit parasites and dangerous diseases such as Hantaviruses.
A resident, Nina K. (40), who lives in Wilmersdorf, witnessed the rat infestation up close. She was the first time with her one and a half year old daughter on Klausenerplatz. She finds the playground very nice due to its location and the selection of the devices. But then she suddenly noticed suspicious noises in the bushes while playing with her daughter in the toddler area.
The rats are no longer shy about people. A family had parked their backpacks on a bench, in which there was no food or garbage, but only clothing. The rats climbed up the bank and went to the backpacks. Nina K. does not want to know whether they jumped in. A father had to drive away the animals with his feet with his three children at one of the camping tables.
Nina K. and her daughter left the playground after only ten minutes out of fear and disgust. For them it was the last visit. Another father who continues to visit the playground with his children despite the plague of rat, says: "It's just nearby." Nevertheless, he has a queasy feeling. There have been rats in the adjacent park for ten years that exist in the bushes due to the garbage lying around. But nothing can be seen on the playground.
Nina K. has reported the renewed rat infestation to the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office. The answer to your email was that it should be checked whether the playground had to be closed again. As long as children and rats continue to play in the sand.
