Berlin is a popular travel destination for tourists from all over the world. The summer vacation in particular attracts many visitors to the German capital. But where are the Berliners go on during the holidays? And who are most non -European tourists who travel to Berlin?

According to the tour operator TUI, Mallorca is the most popular summer travel destination for Berliners and also takes first place this season. In places two and three follow Antalya (Türkiye) and Crete (Greece). Crete was particularly able to win this season and is the goal for almost every fifth trip of the Berlin TUI customers. Turkey is also very popular with the Berliners.

But it can also be further away. Thailand experiences a comeback and records an increase of over 150 percent. Thailand thus ends up in second place on the Berlin Fern travel ranking. This is followed by Indonesia, the Maldives and Mexico. The United States remains the most visited long -distance travel destination of the Berliners with the biggest guest volume.

Not only Berliners like to travel to the USA, Americans also like to visit the German capital. According to Visit Berlin, most non -European tourists come from the United States. In 2022, 342,614 US citizens visited Berlin and overnight a million times.

The trend shows that international guests come back. After the corona slump, the number of visitors normalized in 2022. Berlin remains the most popular city tour of Germany.

Every month, more than a million tourists travel to Berlin. Around two thirds come from Germany. However, the British, followed by Dutch, Spaniards and French.
