On Thursday, the Berlin police carried out a joint effort with several authorities to take action against undeclared work, illegal cars and the illegal sale of tobacco products. The first place of use was a barbershop on Tempelhofer Damm, where two employees of the central point were present to combat undeclared work to secure control. An official said that there are often clan references in such shops and that you want to prevent regular structures with regular checks.
In this case, undeclared work may have been committed because the papers were missing for an employee. The undeclared work authority then initiated an administrative offense procedure. If the company does not submit the necessary documents, a fine of up to 50,000 euros.
About 2.5 kilometers away the next check took place, in which 18 police officers who completed a course for traffic surveillance, pulled and checked cars. An older BMW was loaded onto a tow vehicle because the pimped chassis was not entered and the tires were too large. Now an expert has to check the car to determine whether it is allowed to go back to the street.
Christian Sharin, subject teacher in the area of traffic law, explained that it was often a challenge for young police officers to approach the drivers directly and to speak to them. However, this is necessary to recognize control offenses such as missing driving licenses, alcohol or drug use at the wheel as well as fake TÜV badges. As part of the control, badges, warning triangle and association boxes are also checked, and the Romberg test is carried out, in which the balance of the driver and their sense of time are tested.
A young motorcyclist was also stopped, whose Honda machine reaches up to 265 kilometers per hour despite an output of 120 hp. The motorcycle was in exemplary condition, including the silencer that was properly. A police officer said that such motorcycles are often processed in such a way that they look good and at the same time make a lot of noise. After a brief review, the journey could be continued.
In the evening, raids took place in several shisha bars in Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Customs checked three restaurants until 10 p.m. and found minor violations, such as not cleared tobacco and unauthorized seats on the sidewalk.
With this joint use, the authorities show their commitment in the fight against undeclared work, illegal cars and tobacco products. The aim is to prevent illegal structures and to ensure security on the streets.
