Construction work during summer vacation: A111 between Waidmannsluster Damm and Stolpe fully blocked on the first holiday Saturday

Am 15. Juli müssen sich Berliner Autofahrer auf Probleme auf der A111 einstellen. An diesem Tag beginnen die Sommerferien und ausgerechnet dann sperrt die Verkehrsverwaltung die Autobahn zwischen Waidmannsluster Damm und Stolpe wegen Bauarbeiten. Die Sperrung gilt von 4 bis 22 Uhr in beiden Richtungen. Umleitungen führen über Hennigsdorf und Heiligensee (Hennigsdorfer Chaussee, Hennigsdorfer Straße, Heiligenseestraße, Karolinenstraße). Diese Maßnahmen wurden bewusst in die sommerferienärmere Zeit gelegt, doch die ausgerechnet auf den ersten Feriensamstag fallende Vollsperrung sorgt bei vielen Urlaubern für Ärger. On this day the summer holidays begin and then the traffic administration blocks the motorway between Waidmannsluster Damm and Stolpe for construction work. The closure applies from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. in both directions. Readings lead via Hennigsdorf and Heiligensee (Hennigsdorfer Chaussee, Hennigsdorfer Straße, Heiligenseestrasse, Karolinenstraße). The traffic information center recommends avoiding A111 that day or starting the trip on another day. Alternatively, drivers can use the A114 (Pankow feeder) or the B5 Heerstraße to AK Spandau A10 (western Berliner Ring).

From July 16, only one lane will be available in both directions by July 28th. Additional full closures are planned for the following days: July 15 from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., July 28 from 8 p.m. to 31 July at 5 a.m., 18 August from 8 p.m. to 21 August at 5 a.m., and 26th August at 8:00 a.m. to 28th August at 5 a.m.

These closures and narrowing certainly bring a lot of stress and waiting times for road users. In order to avoid traffic jams and disabilities, the construction site times should be taken into account when planning the trip.
