Construction work in Lichtenberg: Rhinstraße and Indira-Gandhi-Straße closed!
From Monday, October 21st, Rhinstraße in Berlin-Lichtenberg will be blocked for about two weeks. The section between Gärtnerstraße and Witzenhausener Straße towards Landsberger Allee is affected. The reason for the blocking is construction work for the removal of danger spots caused by heavy goods - a measure that is necessary before the winter months to avoid further damage. Bike and foot traffic and tram traffic remain unaffected by the restrictions. Drivers have to expect a diversion that is signposted accordingly.
In addition, extensive construction work in the area of Indira-Gandhi-Straße and Chopinstrasse starts on the same day. The Lichtenberg district office warns of "considerable traffic restrictions" in this area. For two weeks, lanes are partially closed on Indira-Gandhi-Straße and Hansastraße, and the entrance and exit to Chopinstrasse are blocked. Pedestrians and cyclists also have to expect incisions in their freedom of movement, since access around the construction site will be restricted. Details on the construction work and the traffic situation are www.berliner-zeitung.de to read.
