Bahnchaos: Travelers have to expect delays for weeks!
Deutsche Bahn starts on Friday with comprehensive renovation work on the highly frequented Hannover-Hamm route. Travelers have to adjust to significant diversions and longer travel times. According to the official communications from the railways, the long -distance trains will be redirected in the next seven weeks, which means that passengers between the Ruhr area, Hanover and Berlin have to expect up to 75 minutes late. In Bielefeld, Gütersloh, Herford and Minden will not hold long -distance trains during this time.
In addition, minor restrictions can be expected by November 29, as some trains do not keep in Herford and travel times are extended by five to 30 minutes. Throughout the construction project, travelers from Leipzig have to expect their trains to only drive to Hanover and not continue to Cologne or Frankfurt. In order to be able to plan the trip better, Deutsche Bahn recommends that you find out online about the timetable changes that can already be called up in the DB navigator. The large renovation initiative aims to fix the renovation backlog in the rail network for years in order to improve the reliability and punctuality of the railway.
