Award for green hamlet: Platinum certificate for sustainable mobility
A groundbreaking message for the mobility turn! The green hamlet eG , a private housing association from Münster, has secured the prestigious platinum award of the good mobility Council ! This is a highest price for extraordinary planning services and a real milestone for the project in the former Oxford barracks, where the new oxford-quartier is created.
In the coming years, a place will be created here in which more than 250 people in 126 residential units and the mobility turn will be put into action. Together with the specialist company isicargo from Berlin, the team of the green hamlet has developed an innovative mobility concept that rely on running , bicycle driving , carsharing and the public transport . Whole 66 car parking spaces were originally required, but the cooperative goes a different way: only 25 parking spaces are built!
The heart of mobility vision
The concept, which was awarded the platinum certificate, focuses on the community . Dr. Ingo Kucz , Managing Director of the Good Mobility Council, enthuses: "Using the example of the Green Weilers, we can only see: We only create a change in the mobility!"
But the knowledge of the experts is emerging. Felix Austen , volunteer mobility team member: "We realized the vision of sustainable mobility in cooperation with the city of Münster." A bold step! Instead of creating hundreds of parking spaces, the money now flows into infrastructures for sustainable mobility , such as a huge Veloparkhaus for bicycles and a self-help workshop.
and also Andreas Brüning from Isicargo is enthusiastic about the concept: "Münster stands for sustainable mobility across Germany. Here the bike becomes number one!"
in the year 2025 the green hamlet is completed and the fully certified certification is carried out by the Good Mobility Council. Soon you will measure the mobility footprint of the green hamlet to find out which means of transport the residents actually use. And dr. Kucz cannot be ragged: "We look forward to the results and the handover of the full certificate." It remains exciting!
