From for ancillary cost privilege: 12 million tenants celebrate Germany's new TV freedom
On Wednesday, HD Plus adopted the additional cost privilege with an unconventional campaign in the Reutterkiez in Berlin and heralded the era of new TV freedom in Germany. Several vertical dancers and industrial climbers provided impressive pictures during a spectacular art performance on the walls of a house. From July 1st, landlords will be prohibited to transfer flat-rate costs for a TV cable connection via the additional cost settlement. As a result, the rental costs for tenants decrease in Germany. Andreas Müller-Vondey, Managing Director of HD Plus GmbH, emphasizes that tenants can now decide for themselves how they want to watch TV, what strengthens the competition and is advantageous for the tenant.
Consumer advocates advise tenants not to sign the first best offer for self-selected TV reception, but to compare offers. Comparing the offers is important in order to obtain an optimal price-performance ratio. In metropolitan areas, tenants often have no way of attaching a satellite bowl in order to be able to watch TV without subsequent costs. With HD+ IP, HD Plus offers an alternative to cable TV reception for these households. HD+ IP enables around 100 HDTV channels via the Internet and scores with a simple installation, numerous attractive comfort functions and an affordable price.
In order to draw attention to the end of the additional cost privilege, HD+ already attached a house -high poster on Hermannplatz on June 19. There was also a breathtaking performance of the vertical dancers of Flying Karma, in which hundreds of enthusiastic passers -by watched. Andreas Müller-Vondey emphasizes that the campaign made a clear sign to draw attention to the previously disadvantaged tenants in urban space.
HD+ offers all consumers in Germany via satellite and IP access to high-resolution television and numerous services for more TV comfort. Since 2021, the offer can also be received on mobile devices and selected televisions via IP without a classic television connection. With HD+ via satellite, more than 90 channels can be seen in HD quality.
