Anti-Semitism allegations: SWR presenter Helen Fares reacts to Instagram
The former SWR presenter Helen Fares reacted to Instagram to her expulsion on the public broadcaster and the accusations of anti-Semitism. In a video on her profile, the 29-year-old emphasizes that the boycott of products from companies that support Israel is not anti-Semitic. She argues that this measure serves to put pressure on the Israeli government in order to change its behavior in the Middle East conflict. Fares also emphasizes that many Jewish people support this boycott culture that occurs for peace, solidarity and protection.
The former moderator criticizes the SWR not to have responded to the right letters and claims for her release. In her video, Fares also mentions the influence of "right trolls" and receives hundreds of threatening news that triggered their expulsion. The SWR found it on Monday evening from her moderation tasks for digital dialogue format "Mixtalk" due to repeated statements of extreme political positions in her private social media accounts.
The reason for the exhaust was Fares Instagram posts, in which she called the boycott of Israeli products and recommended an app to identify these products. Criticism of this was expressed by the "ÖRR anti -Semitism Watch" account, which Fares described as an anti -Semitine. The author Hasnain Kazim commented on this as a modernized version of the anti -Semitic slogan "does not buy from Jews" in 2023.
