Andrej Ilic remains: Union Berlin finally signs goal getter!

Berlin, Deutschland - The 1st FC Union Berlin has announced Andrej Ilic's obligation today. The 25-year-old Serbian striker, who originally came on a loan from OSC Lille, now remains permanently in Köpenick. This decision was officially confirmed on Monday evening, and the agreement will come into force on July 1, 2025. Ilic is pleased with the development and emphasizes that he felt comfortable with Union right from the start, while at the same time he could feel the growing trust in his skills. Managing Director Horst Heldt praised the physical presence, the goal instinct and the mentality of the attacker.

ilic was crucial for the offensive game of Union Berlin last season. In the Bundesliga secondary round, he scored a total of seven goals and contributed to the stabilization of the team in particular in the last 14 games. Under coach Steffen Baumgart, he literally blossomed after first playing an outstanding role under Bo Svensson. Ilic scored an average of every 135 minutes and was the second best scorer in the team with his seven goals.

impressive performance

His remarkable achievements included a double pack in a spectacular 4: 4 against VfB Stuttgart and two goals that secured the important 2-1 away win in Augsburg. These successes emphasized its importance for the team and enabled Union Berlin to spend the transfer fee of around five million euros after the sale of top scorer Benedict Hollerbach.

The obligation of Ilic comes at a time when the association continues to work to strengthen its offensive power. Ilic, who enjoyed his football training at the Partizan Belgrade, brings experiences from various European leagues, including Latvia, Norway and France, to Berlin. Horst Heldt and those responsible for the association convinced his ability to integrate into the team and to prove his playful skills.

Union Berlin relies on the Serbian attacker to continue to be competitive in the Bundesliga in the coming season. The team hopes to form an even stronger series of attacks with Ilic at the top, which is able to inspire the fan base with gripping game moments.
