Ampel coalition fails: Union raises the alarm because of a migration dispute!
Berlin. The negotiations between the Union parties and the traffic light coalition on stricter migration laws were broken off without results on Tuesday. CDU boss Friedrich Merz commented on frustrated: "The federal government is obviously hopelessly quarreled internally and cannot agree on effective measures. The traffic light capitulates against the challenge of irregular migration. The federal government is unable to act and unable to act." Further information can be found in an article on Jungfreifheit.de .
Alexander Dobrindt, chairman of the CSU state group in the Bundestag, sharply criticized the traffic light government: "The traffic light is not too effective measures to limit the irregular migration. This incapacity to act is at risk of order and social cohesion in Germany." Dobrindt emphasized that the government's refusal to implement effective measures such as the extensive rejection of the limits was a surrender.
Faeser's suggestions hardly feasible
The core of the problem lies in the suggestions of Interior Minister Nancy Faeser. It suggests that migrants only reject at the border if they do not request asylum in Germany. The problem: Most migrants put an oral asylum request, which is already implemented by the federal police. More about this aspect can be here to read.
Faeser's idea also includes that even migrants who have already been registered in other EU countries are not rejected immediately. Instead, extensive “hearings” should be carried out on the border. If it is determined that another EU state is responsible, the migrants should be brought back-but only if the responsible EU state agrees. This procedure encounters resistance because many EU countries refuse to withdraw.
Austria and Poland have already made it clear that they will not take back illegal migrants who want to enter Germany via their territory if they are stopped by the Federal Police.
