However, in addition to dehydration and heat stroke, the cardiologist warns: "The dehydration, which alcoholized people often notice too late or not at all, leads to the expansion of the vessels and thus to decrease in blood pressure. This state can not only result in circulatory problems and unemployment, but in an emergency in a circulatory collapse." In this case, first aid measures must be initiated immediately. In addition to stopping the emergency call and the care of the person until the emergency workers arrive, it is advisable to cool the data subject with damp cloths in the area of neck and face. However, there should be no ice cream directly on the body.
So that the summer football event goes without health consequences, Prof. Baberg appeals to a responsible alcohol consumption and recommends to take four simple tips into account:
1. Hydration: If you consume alcoholic beverages despite hot temperatures, it is important that you keep drinking water to protect your body from dehydration.
2. Holding: Limit alcohol consumption and consciously enjoy. Alcoholic drinks are not thirst quenchers.
3. Shady places go to: Avoid long stays in direct sunlight and thus give your body cooling.
4. know first aid: Find out about the first aid measures for dehydration and heating.
