Alfa-Mobil offers help for illiterate in Lichtenberg and Berlin-Hohenschönhausen

The Alfa-Mobil offers concrete help for people with reading and writing weakness, on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Linden Center at Prerower 1st in 13051 Berlin-Hohenschönhausen. The mobile advisory bus of the Federal Association of Swhababetization and Basic Education (BVAG) is very popular. Many adults, not only in Lichtenberg, have difficulties with everyday actions such as reading newspapers, writing notes for the children or sending emails in the office.

The BVAG works closely with local partners, including the Alpha alliance Lichtenberg and the Margarete-Steffin-Volkshochschule Berlin-Lichtenberg, which offers basic training courses. Many actions are accompanied by former affected people who share their personal stories and encourage others to take part in a learning course. These courses not only help the participants to read and write, but also strengthen their self -confidence. In Lichtenberg, the promotion is accompanied by learning ambassador Tina Fidan, who wants to encourage other people affected to take the step into the reading and writing course.

The BVAG employees provide information on the Alfa-Mobil as part of the campaign "Better Reading and writing makes proud" about the topic of illiteracy in Germany. Through the ALFA-Mobil campaigns, those affected are to be addressed directly and indirectly via a general public. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
