Adler Group in Berlin disregarded agreed capping of rent increases

The controversial real estate company Adler Group apparently violates its agreements with the Berlin Senate. It is about rent increases that should actually be limited.

The Berliner Zeitung first reported that the Adler Group in Berlin does not adhere to the agreed upper limits for rent increases. The alternative tenant and consumer protection association (AMV) analyzed corresponding rent increases of the company. According to the report, there are letters to tenants in which increases of up to 15 percent are announced.

The Adler Group is a member of the "Alliance for New Housing and affordable living in Berlin" and had actually undertaken to limit the rent increases to a maximum of 11 percent in three years. Various real estate companies belong to the alliance. It is unclear how the Adler Group will continue within the alliance.

The capacity of the rent increases should help relax the living situation in Berlin. The demand for rental apartments in the capital is currently very high. The agreements made together should ensure that sufficient affordable living space is available. The Adler Group did not respond to a request from T-Online by Thursday afternoon.
