13-year-old boy disappears after vehicle theft: police intensified search
The 13-year-old boy, who grabbed his grandfather's car in Glienicke on Sunday, is still missing. According to the police, he was last seen on Tuesday night on the A24 in a black Mercedes of the E-Class from 2012. The police officers tried to control him, but he beyond control. The search for the vehicle and the boy was initiated immediately. However, a public search is only justified if the body, life or freedom of a person are immediately threatened, which is currently not the case.
The missing person has left the child and youth facility in which he lives, but was found again and again several times or returned by itself. The police also know him from previous missions. It is known that the boy already has experience in dealing with cars. In the incident on the A24, he was able to escape the official by drove from the highway. It was not an uncertain driving style and it was not an externally noticed as a 13-year-old at the wheel of a Mercedes. The police are looking intensively for the boy and checks various addresses and possible locations.
Legally, the boy's behavior must be assessed. Driving without a driving license would basically be a crime. The driving license class B would be required to carry the vehicle used, which a 13-year-old cannot own due to his age. In criminal law, 13-year-olds are still considered children and are therefore not punishable. However, measures to help educational aid can be taken by youth welfare offices. However, the person who allows or orders that a person leads a motor vehicle without the necessary driving license. However, there is currently no evidence that someone else is responsible for driving the boy.
The police reserve the right to initiate a public search if the circumstances change. However, it is currently still being sought intensively for the 13-year-old boy and the vehicle.
